Kaleidoscope 2 Min Play Laboratories

About Laboratories

The Two Minute Play Laboratory is an experimental space to advance the producing, sharing, and the collective interpretation of lived experience.   It connects story holders, who share their experiences, with story animators (the actors) who use theatrical skills to present these stories on stage.   The audience are not passive, they are active participants, they are spect(actors) encouraged to participate and make sense of the performance in real time.

While many dedicated and thoughtful individuals have worked to address our biggest challenges, lasting solutions are most effective when they are grounded in the voices and experiences of those who live with these realities every day. The Two Minute Play Laboratory creates space for these perspectives to be heard and valued, ensuring that lived experience guides meaningful change.

Community animators collaborate with story holders in this process to assist in presenting their narratives within a theatrical event.   Our work has had observable effect on both story holders and spect(actors).   Bridging the divide that often exists between these two groups.

I have no background in acting, but telling my story through theatre was therapeutic and empowering. It connected me to a broader community and gave voice to an experience that is often invisible. (story holder)
