The Canadian Dream

What is it?

The Canadian Dream is a forum theatre presentation focused on the complex challenges faced by newcomers to Canada, including housing instability, and incidents of xenophobia and racism that affect wellbeing and belonging. The project promotes community engagement and encourages practical innovation informed by lived experiences.  The goal of the project is to provide a system professional development opportunity for groups and agencies and to open opportunities for prevention and solutions that address systemic inequities.

This project was created through Kaleidoscope Laboratory 2.0, learn more about our labs here!

“It opened my eyes a lot. Hearing people’s personal stories makes it more real. A lot of the things shared in Canadian Dream presentation broke my heart. I hope that sharing these things allows others to feel and perceive the priority of caring instead of chasing material things.” (Canadian Dream Spectactor)
